David Robertson (RHP, CHW) and Zach Duke (LHP, CHW) were signed to four-year and three-year deals respectively to solve last year’s bullpen woes. Six different pitcher posted saves last year, led by rookie Jacob Petricka’s (RHP, CHW) 14. Petricka’s skills were marginal for a closer (6.8 Dom, 1.7 Cmd, 1.37 WHIP, 3.57 xERA) sending the White Sox to the free agent market. Robertson has elite closer skills. Last season, taking over from Mariano Rivera, he had 39 saves with a 2.38 xERA/13.4 Dom/1.06 WHIP/177 BPV.
