The Minnesota Twins freed up additional playing time as Tyler Austin (OF/1B, SF) was first designated for assignment, and then traded to the San Francisco Giants. This move should bump C.J. Cron’s (1B, MIN) innings at first base up slightly and might get Mitch Garver (C, MIN) a handful of at bats from the 1B position as well. Willians Astudillo (C/INF, MIN) could also benefit as his hitting in the early going should earn him more playing time all over the diamond.

Jake Cave (OF, MIN) seems locked in as the fourth outfielder, spelling starters—Eddie Rosario (OF, MIN) in left, Byron Buxton (OF, MIN) in center, and Max Kepler (OF, MIN) in right—who should log the majority of playing time at their respective positions....
