Two formerly-successful starters are trying to force their way onto the 25-man roster. There's no room right now in the rotation for Chien-Ming Wang (RHP, KC; pictured above) and Dillon Gee (RHP, KC), but each could serve as a swingman at some point in 2016.

KC media and fans have been abuzz over Wang's major increase in fastball speed (now 95 mph vs. 89 in 2015) after working with a pitching consultant in the 2015 offseason. The spring 2016 results have been intriguing so far with eight K and one BB in nine IP (MLB career 4.1 Dom, 2.7 Ctl) to go with three ER and a 17:2 groundout: flyout ratio.
