Ben Zobrist (2B/SS/OF, KC) has played all over the field since joining the Royals, but most of his starts have been in left field because of Alex Gordon’s (OF, KC) DL stint. With Gordon’s return imminent, many observers think that Zobrist will take the 2B starting job from Omar Infante (2B, KC). Infante has struggled with the bat this season. He is batting a career-low .221 with 1 HR in over 400 AB. Manager Ned Yost has acknowledged that Zobrist will see time at 2B when Gordon is activated, but he also said that Zobrist will get starts over Alex Rios (OF, KC).

Rios has also struggled at the plate this season and there are indications he is in decline. His xBA has decreased three seasons in a row (.288, .269,...
