Those scouting box scores may have detected an interesting phenomenon emanating out of Baltimore this past week: three stolen bases in the span of two games — including two in a game that he did not even start — from Rougned Odor (2B, BAL) on July 7 and 8.

We have already seen one long-fringy infielder shockingly have a seismic impact on fantasy standings in 2022 in Jon Berti (3B, MIA). Might Odor be Berti 2.0?

In a word: no. Or at least, probably not.

For while Odor does have a history of four straight double-digit stolen base seasons from 2016 to 2019, the first thing to know about Odor's unlikely binge are the circumstances surrounding those two steals on July 8. Odor had entered the game as a defensive replacement...
