Compared to the record-setting futility at the plate of Chris Davis (1B, BAL), a nearly equal stretch of ineptitude by Cedric Mullins (OF, BAL) had attracted relatively little attention—except, perhaps, from his unfortunate fantasy owners. Before the Orioles demoted Mullins April 22, had had registered just eight hits in his last 100 at-bats, dating back to last season.

The Orioles’ immediate plan while Mullins tries to find his stroke at AAA-Norfolk appears to be to make Joey Rickard (OF, BAL) an everyday player in center field.
