PT TOMORROW: AL East — Some head into 2023 more well-armed than others

This is the third in a three-part series looking up and down the AL East in 2023, following columns on the teams' outlooks in the outfield and infield.

 

Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa is still very much in contention for the World Series in 2022. But, come next year, teams might be wishing that they got their licks in against the Rays when they could.

That’s because in 2023 Tampa could open the season with a rotation fronted by Shane McClanahan (LHP, TAM), Shane Baz (RHP, TAM) and Tyler Glasnow (RHP, TAM).

The little bit of time he missed and his comparatively low win total may have allowed Justin Verlander (RHP, HOU) to pull away in the AL Cy Young race, but otherwise, the year has been a smashing success for McClanahan.

The same cannot be said...
