The Red Sox have added Marco Hernández (2B, BOS) back to their active roster after the organization gave him a couple of starts at corner outfield spots at AAA-Pawtucket. Hernandez had 16 hits in 48 AB for the PawSox, with five of the hits going for extra bases (4 2B, 3B).

While he is nowhere near earning a starting role, the exposure suggests that the team continues to evaluate options to provide some offensive punch from left field against right-handed pitching. On April 28, Blake Swihart (C, BOS) got his anticipated first left-field start as well.

Before collecting three hits in the first two games in a weekend series with rival New York, Brock Holt (LF, BOS) had been demonstrating why such a search might be prudent....
