Official word came down on June 22 that the Blue Jays would be without Opening Day closer Roberto Osuna (RHP, TOR) until August 5, which at the time left some question as to the team’s plans for the second half. Some of those answers seem to have been provided by GM Ross Atkins, who  said on June 29 he expects Osuna to slot back in as the team's closer upon return.

Whether or not the team follows through remains to be seen, but it’s worth noting that two other closers who’ve had similar suspensions have generally assumed the role in short order—with Aroldis Chapman (LHP, NYY) getting his first save one day after being activated in 2016, and Jeurys Familia (RHP, NYM) getting his first save nine days after activation in...
