The Red Sox smartly relented after initially saying that Eduardo Rodriguez (LHP, BOS) would be one-and-done in the team’s rotation after the rookie hurled 7 2/3 scoreless innings (3 H, 2 BB, 7 K) in his major league debut. The team will reportedly use six starters for at least one turn through the rotation and then reassess.

Meanwhile, Justin Masterson (RHP, BOS) was scheduled to make the first of a series of rehabilitation appearances May 31. There has been little to recommend Masterson this season as his struggles from 2014 only deepened, his average fastball velocity dipping to 87 mph and his skills dropping like a stone (4.73 xERA, 6 BPV). The main number that might (literally) buy Masterson another chance is $9.5...
