Chris Davis (1B, BAL) will be among the more interesting players to watch as spring training gets underway. Davis, of course, was one of 2014’s biggest disappointments, regressing and then some from his .286-53-138 campaign of 2013.

Davis’ 25-game amphetamine suspension, which will cost him Opening Day of 2015, has perhaps left the most lasting impression, but those looking for a place to hang their hopes for a rebound may want to consider a late-April oblique injury from 2014. While Davis was only sidelined for a couple of weeks, one local reporter, MASN’s Roch Kubatko, recently suggested that its effects lingered, preventing Davis from driving the ball to the opposite field.
