If / when he's healthy, Anthony Rendon will be the primary 3B in Anaheim, mostly by virtue of the $115M he is owed over the next three seasons. Since signing with LAA back in 2020, Rendon has played in just 200 of a possible 546 games, courtesy of myriad injuries—with his 58 games on the field in 2021 being a high watermark. There's some visible residual value 33-year-old Rendon's plate skills (81% ct%, 13% bb% over 183 PA last year) even as his power has become suspect. But his recent inability to stay on the field has made this irrelevant and keep Rendon a high-risk / dubious upside 3B option.
