The Mariners' off-season plan to revive their catching production is going according to plan, and in fact, perhaps too well. Newcomer Chris Iannetta (C, SEA) is providing his usual low-BA, patience+average power performance as seen in his .233 BA, 14% bb%, 2 HR and 80/101 PX/xPX through 43 AB. And backup Steve Clevenger's (C, SEA) early 3-for-16 is partly the fault of some poor h% luck (17%). His small-sample .264 xBA suggests that things should get a little better for Clevenger if he can maintain something near his current 81% ct%.
