The biggest reason for a 15-17 W-L record entering Monday was an offense ranked 13th in AL runs scored, after leading all of MLB in the category in 2014. The first shoe dropped last week when catcher Carlos Pérez was recalled and immediately began taking AB away from sub-.100-hitting Chris Iannetta. But another black hole can be found in the performance to date of newly-acquired Matt Joyce (OF/DH, LAA), who shares LF and DH with platoon-mates Collin Cowgill (OF, LAA) and C.J. Cron (DH/1B, LAA), neither of whom were batting over .200 entering the week.
