PT TOMORROW: AL West—If only Mitch could pitch...

Seattle Mariners

Aside from what looks like an earlier-than-expected return from the DL by Mitch Haniger (OF, SEA), there's little-to-no immediate drama involving a mostly set lineup. Haniger took a pitch in the face near the end of July, sustaining a mild concussion and small nasal fractures that were initially expected to keep him out of action until the end of August. But as of August 15, Haniger was two games into a Triple-A rehab and showing few ill effects from injuries or time off (2 HR, 3/3 BB/K in 9 AB), suggesting that he'll beat the return date handily, and perhaps before the week is out. When he does, Leonys Martin (OF, SEA) is likely head back to AAA-Tacoma after going 11-for-48 (2 HR, 1/10 BB/K) in Haniger's absence.

But...
