Earlier in March we speculated on the TEX closer role as to whether Sam Dyson (RHP, TEX) could hold down the ninth inning over the long haul, and thus far that concern looks warranted. The most obvious question was whether Dyson's extreme GB% would continue to be enough to neutralize his inability to miss bats (7.0 Dom, 9% SwK)—and now at least early, this situation has deteriorated even further. Dyson finally picked up his first K of the season in a non-save situation during Sunday's TEX win over OAK. But Dyson had given up 8 runs in his previous two appearances, emerging with a blown save and two losses already in the first week of the season. His walk Sunday was the third in a small season-sample to date.
