The #1-4 rotation spots aren't difficult to project, but all come with questions. At least per the numbers, even long-time ace Jered Weaver's bend-don't-break act looks increasingly tenuous. As Ray Murphy noted in last week's Speculator piece, Weaver's ERA/xERA tandem (3.59/4.25 in 2014) has declined gently for three consecutive seasons, with his 2014 2.6 Cmd and 2.7 Ctl being his worst in four years. A fastball that averages just a tick over 86 mph leaves Weaver increasingly dependent on pinpoint command and deception. That said, Weaver still keeps his Dom around 7.0 and has carved out a consistently effective career by inducing infield pop-ups and flyballs to the deepest part of pitcher-friendly Angel...
