Mitch Haniger's return from the DL raises the question of who loses outfield time, both near-term and over the longer haul. Mgr Scott Servais was purposefully vague, simply suggesting that he'd use all of Jarrod Dyson (OF, SEA), Ben Gamel (OF, SEA) and Guillermo Heredia (OF, SEA) in the remaining two OF spots depending on matchups. Because this use will also depend on productivity, a look at the track records suggest that this PT situation will be forever fluid.

None of these players have seized full-time AB, not even Gamel, who has seemingly distanced himself from the others with his .331 BA through 157 AB. But the metrics underlying the gaudy BA—69% ct%, .233 xBA, 47% h%—suggest that Gamel has furthest to fall and...
