What had been described in March as a loose platoon between off-season acquisition Tony Kemp (OF/2B, OAK) and disappointing one-time prospect Franklin Barreto (2B, OAK) looks like anything but after the first six games of the season. The left-handed-hitting Kemp has made just two starts out of six (five vs opposition right-handers) thus far; Barreto has just one AB off the bench to date. Mgr Bob Melvin suddenly began raving about the bat of Chad Pinder (2B/OF, OAK) in early July, and Pinder is now atop the 2B playing time leader board with three early starts. But Pinder has done nothing-to-date...
