The Reds finally paved the path for Jose Barrero (SS, CIN) to return to the major leagues in early August by shifting Kyle Farmer (SS/3B, CIN) to third base. Prior to a rest day Sunday, Barrero had started 15 straight games at shortstop. The results have been concerning to say the least, highlighted by a remarkably low 49 ct%. There are positives to the profile (109 PX, 147 Rspd), but Barrero’s inability to make contact has derailed any chance of consistent success.
