After having 16 different starters take the ball for the 2017 squad, the Reds hope to have a healthier and more dependable rotation this season. Barring injury—no minor caveat given the injury history of the rotation incumbents—only one rotation slot is likely up for grabs in spring training. Rotation favorites include Anthony DeSclafani (RHP, CIN) and Brandon Finnegan (LHP, CIN), who both had lost seasons due to injury, as well as Homer Bailey (RHP, CIN) and young flamethrower Luis Castillo (RHP, CIN). Cincinnati will have a bevy of arms competing for their final rotation spot.
