Perhaps it was the product of Milwaukee's injury situation, or trying to get at-bats early in the season for all the hitters on its roster, but manager Craig Counsell was particularly aggressive in playing matchups based on handedness during its weekend series against the Cubs. With the exception of the additional injury to Luis Urías (2B/SS/3B, MIL), the team kept a fairly common lineup against right-handed pitching on Friday and Sunday. That lineup featured five and six batters who hit from the left side, respectively, with the only difference being Victor Caratini (C, MIL) giving William Contreras (C, MIL) an expected breather behind the plate.
