At first glance, not much changed for Trevor Bauer (RHP, CIN) when he was dealt from Cleveland to Cincinnati besides the majority of his outings coming on the opposite side of Ohio. However, the way he was handled in Cleveland was unique and may not be replicated by Reds’ manager David Bell. Prior to making his debut with the team on Saturday, Bauer averaged 111.9 pitches per start—highest in the league—and faced 27.7 batters per outing. While still in the midst of a down season compared to his 2018 breakout, Bauer has maintained a base level of value due to his volume of strikeouts (his Dom has dipped from 11.3 to 10.5) and ability to get wins.  

Both of those outputs were aided by his unique (by today’s standard)...
