Lorenzo Cain (OF, MIL) is in the midst of one of his worst seasons since he broke out in 2014 both from a skills and production standpoint. His HctX, contact rate, and hit rate are all at their lowest marks since then, and his 10 stolen bases pale in comparison to the mid-20s mark he’s consistently delivered. Like Joey Votto (1B, CIN), it’s worth considering whether Cain is hampered by an injury or if age is starting to catch up.

At least a partial answer to that question was provided late in the week when stories surfaced that Cain had undergone a cryotherapy procedure on his right thumb. He returned to play in the Brewers’ weekend series against the Pirates, even slotting in atop the order on Sunday. Still, it’s...
