PT TOMORROW: NL Central—CF in St. Louis

St. Louis Cardinals

Off-season acquisition Peter Bourjos (OF, STL) was expected to man center field on a pretty consistent basis, and he began the season by starting eight of the team's first ten games. His leash was pretty short, however, as his playing time quickly dwindled. There was even a recent stretch in which Bourjos started just one of ten games. Since then, he's come on strong, collecting five hits, including a home run in a three-game stretch.

Bourjos is not a great hitter (.700 career OPS), but his elite defense and speed have helped make up for his deficiencies with the bat. He's a long way from becoming an every day player, but perhaps his recent signs of life will give him another opportunity at semi-regular playing time....

Almost!
