The top four spots in the rotation look set, which leaves one spot for several pitchers to battle for. In the mix are Travis Wood (LHP, CHC), Edwin Jackson (RHP, CHC), Tsuyoshi Wada (LHP, CHC), and possibly Felix Doubront (LHP, CHC).

Wood and Jackson each had plenty of opportunities last season, but Wood finished with a 5.03 ERA, and Jackson a 6.33 mark. Wood posted a career best 7.6 Dom, but his Ctl rose to 3.9, and he's an extreme fly ball pitcher. He hasn't walked a batter in five innings this spring, while allowing four runs (two earned), but as indicated recently in Facts/Flukes, his 3.11 ERA in 2013 looks like an aberration.
