The front office clearly has their eyes set on the future, as they sat 14 games under .500 at the break, and already completed a blockbuster deal that sent Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel to Oakland. More moves are sure to come prior to the deadline, as the organization continues to stockpile young talent.

Emilio Bonifácio (OF, CHC), a free agent after this season, is one the team would certainly like to trade, and he would make for an attractive target were he 100 percent healthy. He has been out since June 12 with an oblique injury, and began his rehab assignment July 11. He has since been moved to Double-A Tennessee, and appears to be nearing a return.
