Kevin Gregg (RHP, CIN) had a forgettable season debut, as he surrendered a game-tying, two-run homer to Andrew McCutchen, and failed to make it out of the eighth inning. When asked after the game if Gregg was still his eighth inning guy, Manager Bryan Price was non-committal, and mentioned Jumbo Diaz (RHP, CIN), Manny Parra (LHP, CIN), and Tony Cingrani (LHP, CIN) as other options in that spot.

Diaz, the lone right-hander of the group, was called upon to bail out Gregg, getting the final out in the eighth inning. He pitched in the next two games as well, and in total, he's tossed three perfect innings, striking out four batters in the process.
