PT TOMORROW: NL Central—Nicasio making strong impression for PIT

Pittsburgh Pirates

Ryan Vogelsong (RHP, PIT), signed to a one-year deal in December, is fully expected to begin the season as a member of the rotation. Despite being 38 years old and coming off a year in which he recorded a 4.67 ERA and 1.9 Cmd, a rebound, while not expected, isn't out of the question. Pitching coach Ray Searage has worked his magic with plenty of pitchers in the past, and Vogelsong did post a sub-4.00 xERA and 2.6 Cmd in 2014.

Vogelsong wasn't brought in to be a long-term solution, as Jameson Taillon (RHP, PIT) and Tyler Glasnow (RHP, PIT) should be ready to step in and contribute in the very near future. Both pitchers have been reassigned to minor league camp, but stand a strong chance of making their big league...
