PT TOMORROW: NL Central—Peraza (finally) has a path to playing time

With the trade of Brandon Phillips (2B, ATL) to Atlanta, José Peraza (SS/OF, CIN) has a clear path to playing time for the first time since he joined the organization at the 2015 trade deadline. In the majors, Peraza played 12 games at 2B in his utility role last season, so he will likely gain 2B eligibility during April in leagues where he’s not already qualified. This eligibility would come in addition to over 20 at SS and OF, giving him valuable multi-position eligibility for 2017. He had a green light (43% SBO) when he was on base last year leading to 21 SB, despite just 241 ABs.

The Reds are rumored to still be shopping Zack Cozart (SS, CIN), who will be eligible for free agency after this season. If they trade...
