After starting his MLB career with a 2.81 ERA over his first 20 starts in 2016, Junior Guerra’s (RHP, MIL) 2017 campaign got off to a far worse start as he only pitched three innings before straining his calf running to first. While not an arm injury—unlike the elbow inflammation that cost him a month last summer—he’ll still be out of commission for a reported 4-6 weeks.

Tommy Milone (LHP, MIL) relieved Guerra and has been named the starter for April 8 in Guerra’s stead. However, he may not be long for the rotation, with the manager Craig Counsell not committing to him receiving additional starts.
