Carlos Gómez (OF, MIL) pulled up lame with a hamstring injury late in the April 15 game, and is headed to the disabled list. The merits of Gerardo Parra (OF, MIL), who is now looking at an expanded role, were discussed in this column just last week.

Jean Segura (SS, MIL) had hit in the bottom third of the order in seven of the team's first eight games, but was bumped up to the leadoff spot in the first game Gomez missed. Manager Ron Roenicke said that he chose Segura over Scooter Gennett (2B, MIL) because he has the hot hand right now. He stated that he doesn't want to be flip-flopping players in the leadoff spot, and that whichever one of the two is swinging better will fill that role.
