With question marks surrounding the rotation behind Adam Wainwright (RHP, STL) and Lance Lynn (RHP, STL), the Cardinals' front office was proactive in adding a couple of established starters.

Following a breakout 2013 campaign, it's been a rough year for Justin Masterson (RHP, STL), who had a 5.51 ERA in 19 starts with Cleveland. Perhaps his time spent on the disabled list resting his knee, along with a change of scenery, can change his fortunes. His 3.83 xERA says he hasn't been as bad as his ERA suggests, as a 35 percent hit rate and 65 percent strand rates have played a part.
