PT TOMORROW: NL East—Is Turner's arrival drawing near in WAS?

Calls for the promotion of Trea Turner (2B/SS, WAS), the team's third best prospect according to BaseballHQ.com, figure to get louder as June approaches. If the Nationals wait until early June, they can control Turner’s rights through 2022 and a mid-July or later call-up would postpone his arbitration eligibility until 2020, as opposed to 2019. Those aren’t the only reasons to delay Turner’s arrival, but they’re certain to be part of the thought process.

Outside of those considerations, there have been some concerns about Turner’s defense. That was an area they wanted him to improve following a 21-error season a year ago, but he has six errors in 154 chances through 32 games at Triple-A Syracuse, so it would appear...
