Alec Bohm (3B, PHI) hit the ground running in 2020, posting very a promising batting line in his first taste of MLB: .338/.400/.481, 24 R, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 1 SB in 160 AB. Those flashy numbers weren’t exactly supported by the skills, though, as a bloated 42% h% injected all the fat necessary to smooth out the wrinkles (87 HctX, .259 xBA, 53% GB%, 73 xPX). His 90.2 mph EV was above average (81st out of 351, 77th percentile, min. 50 BBE), but when you take out ground balls, his FB/LD EV was less impressive relative to the league (93.6 mph, 59th percentile).

To be clear: we’re not saying Bohm isn’t an exciting young player. He has the pedigree. His MiLB numbers were impressive: .293/.368/.474, 9.9% BB%, 13.8% K%, 147...
