The Braves’ early season bullpen plans were upended when Arodys Vizcaíno (RHP, ATL) went down for the year with an injured shoulder and A.J. Minter (LHP, ATL) was sent down due to ineffectiveness. Luke Jackson (RHP, ATL) has capitalized in their wake, converting six saves in seven tries. His 11.6 Dom, 3.8 Cmd, 2.33 xERA, and 174 BPV suggest that he could continue to get the lion’s share of save opportunities moving forward—if not become one of the more reliable closers in the league. What if the team wishes to stick to its original plan of having co-closers, mixing and matching at the end of games with a left-hander?
The most obvious option to complete a righty-lefty tandem would still be Minter. He’s pitched only 2.3...
