If there has been a silver lining to the injury suffered by Anthony Rendon (2B/3B, WAS), it has been the surprising play from Danny Espinosa (2B/SS/3B, WAS). He has done a fine job whenever called upon this season.

It’s a small sample size of 102 AB, but Espinosa has shined. He has been able to boost his ct% to a career high of 75% (12% higher than 2014) while maintaining his power (149 PX). The 28-year-old has also drawn walks at a higher rate than ever before (2015: 12% bb%; career 7% bb%). These gains have resulted into a rather robust .275/.373/.490 slash line with 5 HR.
