PT TOMORROW: NL East—Garcia's 3B defense an issue for ATL

Last week we touched very briefly on the defensive issues of Adonis Garcia (3B, ATL) in his relatively brief time as a major leaguer. The 31-year-old made ten errors in 96 chances in 2015 and has already made six errors in 31 chances in 2016. The Braves knew Garcia’s defense was very much a work in progress, but opted to give him a shot at third base simply because of his offensive potential. The Braves ranked last in MLB in runs per game in 2015, so any type of boost in that area is well worth a shot, and the 10 HR Garcia hit in just 191 AB a year ago has them intrigued. However, If Garcia doesn’t soon start showing some progress with his defense, one wonders how much longer the team can afford to play him at the hot...
