PT TOMORROW: NL East—How long will the Mets go sans Francisco?

Despite a 5-5 West Coast swing and the Braves’ current 14-game winning streak, the Mets continue to lead the NL East by five games. As of this writing, they lead the majors in runs scored (316), batting average (.265), on-base percentage (.336), and are second in wRC+ (116). So why, according to Jon Heyman of the NY Post, are they apparently considering a promotion for their top prospect Francisco Álvarez (C, NYM)?

First, here’s Heyman’s tweet verbatim: “Mets now aren’t ruling out top prospect Francisco Alvarez catching in the majors in 2022.
