Dee Gordon (2B, MIA) isn’t eligible to be reinstated from his 80-game PED suspension until July 28, but it’s not too early to start planning ahead. Derek Dietrich (2B/3B/OF, MIA) has done a solid job at second base, so manager Don Mattingly will have to decide how to divvy up playing time once Gordon is back in the fold.

If Dietrich continues to swing the bat well, he figures to still find his name on the lineup card a few times a week. Don’t be surprised to see Dietrich get a couple starts per week at second base and perhaps a start every now and then at third base to give Martín Prado (3B, MIA) a breather. It’s also not out of the question that Dietrich could see an occasional start in left field.
