As the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline approaches, it’s clear that the Braves will be sellers. It remains to be seen as to what degree, but there are several veteran players who could potentially be on the move in the coming days. One name on that list that might surprise some folks is Cameron Maybin (OF, ATL). He has had a fine season, but the Braves could view this as an opportunity to try to sell high on the oft-injured 28-year-old who had been a bit of an underachiever prior to 2015. He is signed through 2016 ($8 million) and there is a $9 million club option for 2017, so if he continues to play the way he has in 2015, that’s not an unreasonable contract.
