PT TOMORROW: NL East—Matz set to rejoin crowded NYM rotation

As BaseballHQ.com WatchList columnist Alec Dopp discussed on August 30, Steven Matz (LHP, NYM) is very close to returning to the Mets starting rotation. Matz, who has been sidelined since July 6 with a partial tear of his left lat muscle, was scheduled to make his final minor league rehab start on August 31. Barring a setback, he’ll rejoin the Mets on September 1. The Mets will go with a six-man rotation as they limit the workload of Noah Syndergaard (RHP, NYM) and Matt Harvey (RHP, NYM). Look for both Syndergaard and Harvey to have their turns skipped at times this month.
