After their free-spending winter, the Mets are obviously in win-now mode. They have a handful of promising prospects who are nearly big-league ready. The question now is how the organization will transition these youngsters into roles in Flushing without compromising that win-now mindset. Let's look at the paths to playing time for this prospect trio:

3B Brett Baty got a reprieve of sorts when the Carlos Correa signing fell through, as Correa's arrival would have blocked Baty from third base for the long term. With Correa back in Minnesota, it remains Eduardo Escobar in front of Baty on the 3B depth chart. That's a rather less-imposing roadblock, although Escobar could hold off Baty by continuing his hot second-half...
