PT TOMORROW: NL West - Jones awaiting his time to reach the Rockies

Colorado Rockies

When the Rockies sent down Elehuris Montero (3B, COL) to AAA-Albuquerque and moved Ryan McMahon (2B/3B, COL) to third base, Alan Trejo (2B/SS, COL) was the playing time winner. That looks to be changing. It would be unfair to judge Trejo based on 246 career plate appearances, but he’s shown little at the plate (-6 BPV) and has added only a modest amount of defensive value. At 27 years old, it seems unlikely his profile takes a significant turn for the better.

The team has seemingly started to acknowledge the same thing. Harold Castro (2B/3B, COL) has quietly moved into a timeshare with Trejo at second base, starting six of the last nine games at the position. He hasn’t had any better results than Trejo across far more...

Almost!
