PT TOMORROW: NL West—Arizona's OF taking shape

Arizona Diamondbacks

A.J. Pollock IV (OF, ARI) seems to be inching closer to a return to the Arizona lineup as he began another rehab assignment with AAA-Reno earlier this week. Pollock, who has been out since Memorial Day with a broken hand, was recently hit on that same hand in a rehab stint. The freak incident has delayed his return to the lineup, but if all goes well in his second go-round, we should see Pollock back in the lineup by early September. Pollock posted exciting skills (.298 xBA, 166 PX, 171 Spd) over 177 AB through the season's first two months, and he'll be a fine offensive boost if he keeps up even part of that early-season success down the stretch.

Pollock's upcoming return shouldn't have too much of a playing time...

Isaac Collins has struggled vs. LHP, and it might be time for the Royals to give Jac Caglianone another shot at everyday at-bats. Plus, Sam Antonacci's rise in CHW, Angel Martínez's platoon splits in CLE, an opportunity for Matt Vierling in DET, and why the Twins won't play Ryan Jeffers more.

Vaughn Grissom and Oswald Peraza are forcing the issue to change the platoon situation in Anaheim.
