Yonder Alonso (1B, SD) is off to a bad April thus far with just 12 hits in his first 57 ABs and no home runs. The slow start comes off the heels of a poor 2H in 2013 when Alonso returned from a bone fracture in his right hand. This type of injury, which is often linked to a loss in power, has likely contributed to the fact that Alonso hasn't hit a HR since May 19, 2013. He has shown better skills in the past and was a highly regarded prospect, so it'd be premature to give up on him at this early juncture. However, if the slow start continues, who might be in line for more ABs at first base in San Diego?
