After speculating in last week’s column about the effects of Asdrúbal Cabrera’s (1B/3B, ARI) signing on Daulton Varsho’s (C/OF, ARI) chances for an impact this season, news has filtered out of Diamondbacks’ camp regarding the same topic this week. What became clear is that the Diamondbacks plan on keeping a flexible approach in how often they utilize Cabrera, and in turn how often Ketel Marte (2B, ARI) will shift to the outfield. That undetermined role for Marte could open the door for Tim Locastro (OF, ARI) to run into a regular role.
