The Padres shook up the back end of their bullpen earlier this week with the trade of both Brandon Maurer (RHP, SD) and Ryan Buchter (LHP, SD), leaving Brad Hand (LHP, SD) as the odds-on favorite for saves in San Diego. With a 2.12 ERA (2.77 xERA), 11.6 Dom (14% SwK) and 2.5 Ctl on the season, Hand would no doubt excel in the role—but Hand himself has been the one most often mentioned as a possible trade candidate.

One replacement option currently on the roster could be Phil Maton (RHP, SD), whose 1.16 Leverage Index currently ranks second on the team, and who currently sits with a 3.38 ERA (3.05 xERA), 9.2 Dom, 1.0 Ctl and 15% SwK.
