The Master and Margarita, Mikhail Bulgakov’s twentieth century masterpiece and inspiration for the Rolling Stones’ classic “Sympathy for the Devil,” is a fantastical tale about the swirling chaos and nefarious dealings that follow Satan on a visit to 1930s Moscow.
