So far “soreness” is all we got. The most likely cause is shin splints, which are a repetitive motion disorder. If so, he should be back rather quickly. We’ll go with that until we hear otherwise.

Max Scherzer (RHP, WAS) – Neck inflammation (8/19/17)
This is similar to the problem that caused him to leave a start early in August, though it’s on the other side of his neck. He believes he’ll be back in the minimum, which is possible.
